Why should you learn to interpret blueprints?

  3. Well, basically if you plan on working in an industry that requires making/building something it is imperative that you understand how to read blueprints. Being able to read blueprints will allow you to bring someone’s idea and bring it to life. Without a clear interpretation of a blueprint who knows what the end result would be.
    Having the capability to read blueprints can also improve the balance in your bank account, due to the fact that typically the guy who can read blueprints will earn more money than a guy digging a ditch with a shovel, no disrespect to the ditch diggers, been there.
    I’m enrolled in this course as it is part of the curriculum for the Industrial Technology Manufacturing degree here at Bakersfield College. So far this class has shed light on many gray areas in my mind regarding blueprints.

  5. Having the ability to decipher all of the aspects and elements in a blueprint Will create a more efficient worker. Also, it can open the door for a person seeking to get out of the shop, and in to an office. And thirdly, It Will give insight to the person seeking to Create.
    I have enrolled in this course to assist in achieving my goal of having a Good career in welding.
    Personally, after several weeks of this course. I would, and will declare this skill as MANDATORY.

  6. I enrolled in the blueprint reading course in order to gain more knowledge. I am currently a welder/fabricator for the oilfield industry. Blue print reading will enable me to understand what kind of stress the equipment will be under and how to fabricate a safer machine.
